Blood Bank

We have a well-equipped component bloodblood-2.jpg bank within the hospital, working round the clock. Well-trained technical staff provides excellent services. The equipment for component preparation and storage is of the highest quality. Utmost care is exercised in the preparation and storage of components resulting in higher quality of blood products. The products available include whole blood, packed red blood cells, fresh frozen plasma, enjoprecipitate and platelet concentrates.

New Features in Blood Bank

Terumo's Automatic Component Extractor has varied applications for the blood bank. Whether you are looking for high platelet counts, leucoreduction or standardization, the T-ACE can make work easier for you.

The buzzword today in transfusion medicine is leucoreduction or leucodepletion. It involves the removal of leucocytes from the blood component. This can be done either at the laboratory or at the bedside. For many proven reasons, it is ideal to leucoreduced
components in the blood bank. The T-ACE is just the machine to help you achieve consistent levels of leucoreduction in your blood bank.

While helping you achieves leucoreduction of all your components, one of the added benefits is the high platelet count that can be obtained. The counts that are got by using the T-ACE are much higher than that obtained by the manual method. This benefit can be passed on to the patient, who thus requires having less number of units of platelet
transfusion.

Since the component separation procedure is fully automated, the recovery of red cells and platelets are far better than that obtained by the manual method. In fact, the levels of recovery of the component cells can be adjusted to suit the requirement of the blood bank. Thus, the T-ACE makes it possible to utilize the blood resources to the
maximum.

Over and above these features, the T-ACE helps you to standardize the components that are processed in the blood bank. This is because the volume, percentage of leucoreduction and the component yield are of consistent levels, since the entire procedure of component separation is automated (permitting donor to donor variations).

Thus, as you can conclude, the T-ACE is the one-stop solution to the various needs of the blood bank.
